KARACHI: On Tuesday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee exhibited mixed results against major currencies in currency markets.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee weakened by 5 paisas for buying while gaining 15 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168.05 and 168.15 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.80 and 168.20 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR gained 50 paisas for both buying and selling with respect to yesterday's rates closing at 186 and 188 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 5 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.20 and 45.40 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 44.10 and 44.30 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained downward trend for the second consecutive day against the greenback in the local currency market on Tuesday.

According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed for another day in the market which helped its further appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 168.00 and Rs 169.20 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 167.80 and Rs 169.00 respectively.

On the contrary, the rupee continued upward journey for another day in relation to the pound sterling. At close of trading, the pound's buying and selling rates declined from the Monday's closing of Rs 205.20 and Rs 206.80 to Rs 204.10 and Rs 206.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 10 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Tuesday.

The dollar opened at Rs 168.40(buying) and Rs 168.50(selling) against last rate of Rs 168.50(buying) and Rs 168.60(selling).

It closed at Rs 168.40(buying) and Rs 168.50(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold were Rs. 110,200(selling) and Rs 110,100(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
