PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has presented a supplementary budget of Rs29.42 billion for the FY 2019-20. Presenting the supplementary budget in the Provincial Assembly on Friday, Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra said the current expenditure estimated at Rs 536 billion, of which Rs 79 billion is for tribal districts.

The expenditure breakdown is, Rs52 billion for salaries, Rs36 billion for non-salary, Rs24 billion for provincial ADP, Rs10.3 billion for district ADP, Rs49 billion for AIP and Rs12.7 billion for FDA.

Similarly, the total revised estimate is Rs6.750 billion however, some of the grants will be spent more than the allocated amount in different objects therefore funds have been allocated for new objects within the grants, due to which current expenditures have crossed Rs29.42 billion.

The provincial government has released an additional amount of Rs719.27 million to all the provincial departments for the payment of additional relief allowance announced from July 2019.

For the salaries and allowances of IT board Rs30 million have been allocated. Rs170 million have been allocated for KP board of investment, Rs40 million for department if excise and taxation.

Similarly, for prisons department Rs250 million, police department Rs 2.34 billion, Rs1.45 billion for administration of justice department, Rs260 million for department of public health engineering, Rs85 million for local government, Rs63.13 million for agriculture, Rs450 million for wildlife department and Rs70 million for forests,

for irrigation department Rs370 million, Rs40 million for stationery and printing, Rs 4.93 billion for sports, culture, tourism and museums, Rs460 million for transport and mass transit department have been allocated.

The finance minister said the total annual development budget for the financial year 2019-20 was Rs 108 billion which was reduced to Rs 99 billion in the revised estimates. Similarly, the development budget has been reduced by Rs 9 billion.

The minister said the federal government provided funds of Rs 17.60 billion for PSDP schemes and the provincial government has recommended to provide additional funds for early completion of some schemes or expediting work on them.
