ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Tuesday transferred Secretary Commerce, Yousus Naseem Khokhar an officer of BS-22 and posted him as Secretary Interior.
This is the third posting of Khokhar as Secretary Interior. First time he was made Secretary Interior when he was transferred from Power Division. Later he was made Chief Secretary Punjab. However, when he was sent back from Punjab to Centre, he was again made Secretary Interior.
The sources said when Major Azam Sulerman (retired) was removed from the position of Chief Secretary Punjab and made OSD, Khokhar was again transferred and posted as Secretary Commerce, just to accommodate the influential Azam Suleman. Now since, Azam Suleman Secretary Interior opted for retirement to occupy the position of Punjab Ombudsman, the position of Secretary Interior was vacant which has again been given to Khokhar.
The government has appointed Muhammad Saleh Ahmed Faruqi, BS 22 officer of PAS as Secretary Commerce. Notification of postings and transfers have been issued.
