Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed his pain at the precious lives lost in the massive explosions that shook Beirut on Tuesday.

In a tweet, the PM expressed his sorrow and said that Pakistan stands with their Lebanese brethren in this difficult time. "May Allah grant speedy recovery to the injured and strength to the bereaved," he tweeted

On Tuesday, a huge explosion rocked the Lebanese capital Beirut shaking buildings and causing a fire in the port district. The blast killed 100 people and injured nearly 4,000 in a toll that officials fear will rise.

Footage of the explosion posted on social media showed a column of smoke rising from the port, followed by an enormous blast, sending a white cloud and a fireball into the sky.
