KARACHI: On Thursday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 5,031. The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 13.248 billion and the number of lots traded was 17,361.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 7.866 billion, followed by silver PKR 2.764 billion, NSDQ 100 PKR 730.082 million, platinum PKR 599.664 million, currencies through COTS PKR 467.757million, DJ PKR 387.621 million, crude oil PKR 238.988 million, natural gas PKR 112.197 million, SP500 PKR 59.392 million and copper PKR 20.985 million. In agriculture commodities, 6 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 3.261 million were traded.
