NEPRA approved the Detailed Design and Implementation Plan of Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM) to make the competitive Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) operational in Pakistan by April 2022.
The Authority will be conducting a webinar on the 22nd of December to discuss the future of WEM in Pakistan.

According to the schedule issued by the FESCO Sargodha, the power supply of 11 KV feeders Yousuf Sugar Mill,Birbal Sharif,Chak Umer,Kalara feeder emanating from 132-KV Shahpur grid station will remain suspended from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Dec 17.

Omar Ayub said that by 2023 Pakistan will generate 75-80pc of its electricity from its local sources including nuclear, hydro, and coal power, which will reduce the electricity tariffs for the end customers.
The opening of a charging station in Islamabad will help encourage electric vehicles as future transportation in the country, says Babar.
