India doesn't name Huawei among participants in 5G trials

  • Major carriers Reliance Industries' Jio Infocomm, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea will conduct the trials along with state-run MTNL in urban, rural and semi-urban areas, the Ministry of Communications said in a statement.
  • The statement did not mention Huawei and smaller Chinese rival ZTE among the participating network equipment suppliers.

Telecom Italia looking to drop Huawei from Italy 5G network

  • Losing 5G work from Telecom Italia, one of Huawei's biggest clients in Europe, would be a blow to the Chinese technology giant, which has already lost some business to rivals Nokia and Ericsson.
  • Telecom Italia has sent a letter informing Huawei of its intention to call off the contract, one of the sources said. Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore first reported the letter.

Dutch telecoms watchdog to investigate Huawei access to KPN networks

  • KPN said that it is not aware of any improper access by Huawei employees, and Huawei, the biggest supplier of equipment for KPN's 4G mobile networks, denied the report.
  • The Agentschap Telecom said in a statement it would also check whether KPN's current security measures are adequate and issue first findings "in about a month".
